Michael Porter is the all-time leading scorer in PCHS basketball history. His senior season, he was named the Associated Press Player of the Year for Virginia, was selected to the All-Group AAA First-Team, and was the Roanoke Times and World News Player of the Year. That season he averaged 31.9 points per game and scored 41 or more in five games. He scored 670 points his senior year, finishing with 2,177 points for his career, an average of 24.5 points per game. He played in the McDonald’s All-American game and won the inaugural slam dunk contest.
