Cougar Football Former Players
The former Cougar football players listed on this site moved on to the college level. Some moved on to the professional ranks. Several have also made the move from player to coach. While we are sure we've missed some, we will gladly add new submissions as we are made aware of them.

Scott Hughes (PCHS Class of 2000) was a four year walk on at Virginia Tech. He went into coaching and worked at Glenville State, where he recruited former Cougar Adam Atkins, and Jacksonville University. He is currently the Assistant AD at the University of Alabama.






















Mickey Thomas (PCHS Class of 1987) kicked for Head Coach Joel Hicks as a Cougar, then kicked for Frank Beamer and the Virginia Tech Hokies in college. In three seasons, Mickey made 44 of 45 extra point attempts and 31 of 41 field goal attempts for 136 points.

Tyler Dotson (PCHS Class of 2013) played under Head Coach Todd Jones as a quarterback and wide receiver. He later played college football at Concord University

Zach Akers (PCHS Class of 2013) played for Head Coach Todd Jones as a wide receiver. Akers broke the record for career receptions with 53, but that was later surpassed. He is currently listed as tied for most receiving TD's in a game with 2, and is third in career receiving yards. Zach later played wide receiver for Concord University.

Kirk Henricks (PCHS Class of 1990) played under Head Coach Joel Hicks. He later played college football at Concord University, where he was selected as an All-WVIAC defensive back in 1992.
