All-River Ridge District Lady Cougars (from left) Keslyn Secrist, Hannah Keefer, Paige Huff, Jaden Lawson, and Tori Vest.

The All-River Ridge District Girls Basketball team has been announced and several Lady Cougars are included on that list.

 

Senior Keslyn Secrist has named as the first team forward, along with being recognized as the RRD Player of the Year. Junior Hannah Keefer was also listed as a forward on the first team. Senior Paige Huff was named to the first team as a guard.

 

The Lady Cougars are joined on the first team by junior guard Jada Cook and senior forward Trinity Breedlove of Patrick Henry; senior guard Emma Jones of Cave Spring; sophomore guard Katy Hoover of Christiansburg; sophomore guard Avery Tanis of Hidden Valley; and senior guard My’la Green of Salem.

 

The second team includes one Pulaski County player. Junior Jaden Lawson was selected as a guard for that unit.

 

Lawson is joined on the second team by sophomores Brynn Ferguson and Riley Price of Blacksburg; seniors Ava Hibbs and Rachael Anderson of Cave Spring; freshman Addison Gibson of Patrick Henry; and junior Sathara Kane of Christiansburg.

 

Senior Tori Vest was recognized as an honorable mention as a forward. She is joined by senior Summer Bayne and freshman Emme Custer of Salem; freshmen Ainsley Gibson and Azia Banks of Patrick Henry; sophomore Audrey Pearson of Hidden Valley; and sophomore Blythe Akers of Christiansburg.

 

Aside from Secrist being named the RRD Player of the Year, Cave Spring Coach Jessica Ficcaro was listed as the RRD Coach of the year.

 

Pulaski County completed the regular season and River Ridge District Tournament with a perfect record against district opposition, won the RRD Regular Season title, and defeated Patrick Henry 58-46 to earn the River Ridge District Tournament Championship.
