The All-River Ridge District boys’ basketball team has been released and three Pulaski County players have been recognized on that list.

 

Senior Kyle O’Neal was the lone Cougar selected to the first-team. He is joined by Abu Yarmah, Sidney Webb, and Brooks Derey of Patrick Henry; Stark Jones, Dylan Saunders, and Kameron Tinsley of Cave Spring; Tyus Johnson of Hidden Valley; and Wade Bland of Blacksburg.

 

The River Ridge District Player of the Year is Abu Yarmah of Patrick Henry. The Coach of the Year is Jack Esworthy of Patrick Henry.

 

Junior Lane Nester represents Pulaski County on the second team. He is joined by Amauriay Calloway of Patrick Henry; Graham Lilly of Cave Spring; Grant Clemens and Clayton Davidson of Salem; Chandler Montgomery and Xavier Bland of Blacksburg; and Gavin Lott of Hidden Valley.

 

Cougar senior Khalib Horton was selected as an honorable mention. He is joined by Kaleb Robinson and Caden Calloway of Christiansburg.

 

The Cougars finished the season stronger than they started, but with a final record of 6-16. The Cougar JV season ended with a final record of 14-7, with several promising sophomore and freshman players who will look to move up to the varsity ranks next season.
