Tuesday evening the Pulaski County Lady Cougars will host the Jefferson Forest Cavaliers in the Class 4, Region D semifinals. The winner of this game will advance to the region title game and lock a spot in the state playoffs, set to begin next week. The loser will pack up their gear for the season.

 

The Lady Cougars come into the matchup with a record of 22-3. Pulaski County has earned the River Ridge District Regular Season Championship and the River Ridge District Tournament Championship, going undefeated in district play for a third straight season.

 

Pulaski County is currently on a 14-game winning streak and opened the region tournament with a dominating 63-20 win over a rebuilding EC Glass squad. The outcome of that game was decided quickly.

 

Jefferson Forest comes into the game with a record of 18-5. They are currently on a seven-game winning streak that saw them earn the Seminole District championship last week.

 

The Cavaliers will come into the contest Tuesday with a record of 18-5 after defeating the 15-10 GW Danville Eagles 63-32 Friday night. They have wins over Altavista (5-17) twice, Appomattox County (10-12) twice, Amherst County (11-11) twice, Staunton River (4-20) twice, EC Glass (12-11) twice, Heritage-Lynchburg (6-17) twice, Rustburg (1-21) twice, Liberty-Bedford (16-5) once, and Brookville (10-12) twice. They recorded losses to Lord Botetourt (17-7) twice, Liberty Christian (17-5) twice, and Liberty-Bedford (16-5) once.

 

Game time is set for 6 p.m at the Cougar Den. Tickets will be $8 at the gate. $7.85 if purchased through Ticket Spicket or by credit/debit card online or at the gate. Doors and concession stands will open at 5:15 p.m. Winter Sports Passes are NOT VOLID for tournament games.
