Pulaski County High School athletes were recognized as members of the 2-23 All-River Ridge District teams for their sports Tuesday. Among those nine athletes were three softball players, one boys soccer player, one girls soccer player, and four baseball players.
Cougar senior Nathan Pratt was the lone PCHS representative on the All-District boys soccer team. He was selected as a second-team forward.
The Player of the Year was senior Harrison Dandridge of Patrick Henry High School. The Coach of the Year was Shelley Blumenthal of Blacksburg.
Cougar senior Sara Cox was the lone PCHS representative on the All-District girls soccer team. She was selected as a second-team midfielder.
The Player of the Year was a tie, with senior Mila Santsaver-Jones of Blacksburg and junior Ava Landers of Christiansburg sharing the title. The Coach of the Year was Kayla Wood of Salem.
Four Cougars were listed as members of the All-District baseball team. Junior Gabriel Huff was recognized as a first-team selection at second base. Senior Nick Golden was a first-team selection in the outfield. Senior Blaine Reedy was a second-team selection at first base. Senior Cole Albert was a second-team selection at third base.
The Player of the Year was again a tie, with senior Trey Ludy of Cave Spring and senior Mason Self of Christiansburg sharing the title. The Coach of the Year was Ricky Lonker of Cave Spring.
Three Lady Cougars were listed as members of the All-District softball team. Junior Laken Greever was selected as a member of the first-team as a pitcher. Senior Emily Webb was listed as the second-team catcher. Sophomore Sydney Phibbs was listed as a second-team outfielder.
The Player of the Year was senior Tristyn Tofano of Cave Spring. The Coach of the Year was Alec Staneck of Blacksburg.
The Lady Cougar softball team is scheduled to be in action Thursday, May 25, in the opening round of the Class 4, Region D playoffs on the road against Louisa County. That game has a start time of 6 p.m. at Louisa County High School.
