The Pulaski County track and field program continues to shine, this time with several high school and middle school athletes making noise at the Adidas Track Nationals at NC A&T Stadium in Greensboro, North Carolina.

 

Rising sophomore Cole Boone was the feature athlete of the weekend. He started things off on Saturday, earning first place in the Freshman one-mile run with a time of 4:23.14, shattering the freshman meet record by almost 10 seconds. Sunday, he continued his dominance by winning the Freshman 800-meter race with a time of 1:55.45, breaking that record by four seconds.

With these wins, Boone now has four National Championships and has earned All-American status eight times. He also now holds the middle school and freshman 800-meter record, along with the freshman mile record at the national level.

 

It wasn’t just the high school athletes making waves.

 

Rising freshman Anius Slaughter competed in two events. He earned second in the middle school discus throw with his 154’ 2” effort, and third in the middle school shot put with his 43’ 8” throw to make him a two time All-American.

 

Rising freshman Tanner Toney earned All-American honors with a third-place finish in the long jump at 18’ 10.25”. He also finished 13th in the middle school 100-meter race with a time of 11.76.

 

Rising freshman Andrew Allen had a busy weekend. He earned eighth in the middle school 100-meter hurdles, then took eighth in the high jump with a leap of 4’ 9”. 

 

Recent graduate Diego Turner took 11th place nationally in the shot put with a throw of 49’ 11”.

 

Rising freshman Landon Clark ran the middle school two-mile race, finishing 11th with a time of 13:08.67.  He earned 38th in the middle school mile race with a time of 5:42.80.

 

Rising freshman Olivia King earned 16th place in the middle school 100-meter hurdles with a time of 18.94.

 

Rising eighth-grader Aiden Barrett earned 23rd place in the middle school 800-meter race with a time of 2:24.76. He also took 31st in the middle school 400-meter with a time of 1:01.33.

 

Rising junior Kendra Trail earned 24th in the National Elite Shot Put throw with her 30’ .5” effort.

 

Recent graduate Kiontre Hayden earned 24th in the National Elite Shot Put with his throw of 46’ 6”.

 

Recent graduate Davis Neel took 30th in the National Elite 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.01.

 

Recent graduate Olivia Viers took 33rd in the National Elite Long Jump with a leap of 16’ 8”.

 

Rising senior Joel Burchett III earned 84th in the National Elite 100-meter dash with a time of 11:45.
