The historic season for the Cougar golf team not only included a Class 3, Region D Championship Tuesday at the Draper Valley Golf Course, but it also included six Cougars and their coach receiving All-Region accolades.
Freshmen Evan Singleton and Will Rackaway were recognized with first-team honors in the Region. Senior Keaton Jones, freshman Mikey Gonzalez, and senior Thatcher Singleton were named to the second-team. Sophomore Boone Blevins was named as an honorable mention.
Head Coach Mark Hanks was named the Class 3, Region D Coach of the Year.
The Cougars next stop will be at the Heritage Oaks Country Club in Harrisonburg on October 15 for the State Championships. This is the first time the team has qualified as a team for the State match since 2002.
