The first official Virginia High School League football power ratings have been released and Pulaski County remains at the edge of the playoff picture.
Orange County is in first place with their 4-0 record and 24.50 rating. Salem is in second at 5-1 and a 24.16 rating. Louisa County is third at 6-0 and 23.66 points. Amherst County is in fourth place with a 5-0 record and 23.60 rating. EC Glass is fifth at 4-1 and 22.80. Jefferson Forest is sixth with a 3-2 record and 22.20 rating. Halifax County is seventh at 3-2 and 21.60.
The Pulaski County Cougars and Western Albemarle are tied for eighth place with records of 3-2 and ratings of 19.80. Eighth place is the final spot to qualify for the regional playoffs when they begin.
Mecklenburg County (1-5, 17.00), GW Danville (0-4, 14.75), and Blacksburg (0-5, 14.40) round out the bottom of the Class 4, Region D list.
