Four teams have four losses, one has three, four have only one loss and one team remains undefeated as the latest Virginia High School League ratings see several teams moving either up or down after Week 8 games.

 

With a record of six wins and one loss, the EC Glass Hilltoppers are now in first place with a 26.71 rating. The Hilltoppers defeated Jefferson Forest Friday 55-6.

 

Salem sits in second place with a 6-1 record and 26.57 rating. Louisa County, the only undefeated team remaining in Class 4, Region D, is now 8-0 with a 25.75 rating. Amherst County is fourth at 6-1 and 24.28. Orange County is fifth at 5-1 and 23.33. Jefferson Forest, after their loss to EC Glass, falls to 3-4 overall and 21.14 in the ratings.

 

Pulaski County is now in seventh place after their win over Blacksburg Friday. Their record is 4-3 and their rating is 20.42. The Cougars will travel to Mitchell Stadium Thursday to take on the Graham G-Men. Patrick Henry will follow the next week at Kenneth J. Dobson Stadium, followed by the regular season finale at Christiansburg High School.

 

GW Danville moved to eighth place after defeating Halifax County Friday. They have a 3-4 record and 20.14 rating. Western Albemarle is ninth at 3-4 and 20.14. Danville has a 3-1 district record, while Western Albemarle is 2-2 in district play.

 

Halifax County is 10th at 3-4 and 19.85. Mecklenburg County is 11th at 1-6 and 17.57. Blacksburg brings up the bottom of the list at 0-7 and 15.14.

 

The top eight teams in the region will go into the playoffs at the end of the regular season.
