The Lady Cougar volleyball program saw their season come to an abrupt end this week with losses to Cave Spring and Salem at the junior varsity and varsity levels.
It started with a trip to Cave Spring, where the JV Lady Cougars fell in two sets by final scores of 22-25 and 16-25. Ellie Macdonald had four kills and three aces. Caroline Bishop added three kills and two blocks. Emma Sarver added 12 assists.
The varsity contest ended with Pulaski County falling in four sets with scores of 25-22, 16-25, 12-25, and 17-25. Hannah Keefer had nine kills, three aces and six digs. Elaina Aust added 10 assists, one ace and nine digs.
In the final matches of the season, the Lady Cougars took on the Salem Spartans. The JV squad fell in two sets by the scores of 11-25 and 12-25. Ellie MacDonald and Alexis Dishon had two kills each. Makenna Yates added seven digs.
With the loss, the JV squad finishes the season with a record of three wins and 17 losses.
The varsity squad lost to Salem in three sets by the scores of 18-25, 11-25, and 9-25. Lacey Armes had six kills and seven digs. Elaina Aust had six assists. Madison Williams added three kills and one ace.
With the loss, the varsity squad finishes the season with a record of two wins, both over William Fleming, and 18 losses.
