The Pulaski County High School Lady Cougar volleyball program may not have earned as many wins as they had hoped for this season, but the building blocks for next season are there for a much stronger performance in 2023. Wednesday, three members of the program were recognized by the River Ridge District with All-District honors.

 

Junior Hannah Keefer was selected as a member of the second team. Keefer, a middle hitter, finished the 2022 season with 129 kills, 19 blocks with 12 block assists, 32 service aces, 136 digs, 11 assists, and a pass accuracy of 1.69.

 

Senior Laci Armes and junior Leah Keefer were recognized as honorable mentions.

 

Armes, an outside hitter, finished the season with 91 kills, two blocks with six block assists, 25 service aces, 11 assists, 111 digs, and a pass accuracy of 1.61.

 

Leah Keefer, a setter, finished the season with 26 kills, three blocks with seven block assists, 203 assists, 23 service aces, 87 digs, and a pass accuracy of 1.09.

 

The All-River Ridge District first team consists of Caleigh Ponn and Calli Anderson of Hidden Valley; Braelyn Williams and Addison Reasor of Christiansburg; Rylee Sloss of Blacksburg; Reghan Dixon, Grayce Edwards, and Sallie Boxley of Patrick Henry; and Libero Elle Williams of Cave Spring.

 

The Player of the Year is Caleigh Ponn of Hidden Valley. Coach Carla Ponn of Hidden Valley is the Coach of the Year.
