SES EOTY

Snowville Elementary School has named Mrs. Regina Alley as their 2022-23 Employee of the Year. Mrs. Alley currently serves as a Para-Educator at Snowville Elementary, and has been a Para for PCPS for 15 years.

Mrs. Alley is a graduate of Salem High School. She then moved on to New River Community College, where she earned her license as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

She has been married to her husband, Kevin Alley, and the couple has made Draper their home for 31 years. They have two grown sons, Logan, 27, and Carter, 23.

“Mrs. Alley greets all students each day with a smile and works hard to ensure the needs of her students are being met,” Snowville Elementary Principal Amy Shrewsbury said. “We feel very fortunate to have Mrs. Alley as a part of the SES team!”

Mrs. Alley has also worked at Volvo for five years, Hubble Lighting for 11 years, and at AmeriCare as a CNA for three years. During her time at Snowville, she also served as a substitute teacher for four years. She feels one of her most important jobs to date has been taking on the responsibility of being a stay-at-home mom for several years to raise their boys.

“I love working with the children and feeling like I make a difference in their lives,” Alley said. “There are challenges you face that vary with each child, due to each one having different concerns.”

In the nomination form, her peers stated, “Mrs. Alley currently serves as a paraprofessional and assists students with disabilities in the classroom setting. Her days are busy but she is always willing to pitch in to help with anything that needs to be done. The expectations that she holds for students are consistent and students enjoy working with her. She also works collaboratively with our school staff to ensure that the needs of students are met and she has proved to be valuable when problem solving challenging situations. We are proud to have Mrs. Alley as a member of our Snowville community and appreciate her time and dedication to our students.”

During her free time, Mrs. Alley enjoys spending time with family and friends, as well as time with her poodle, Baxter.

She mentions her husband and sons as her biggest supporters, but also has a special bond with the people she works with in Snowville.

“I feel very supported and cared for as a part of the team at my school in Snowville,” she said.
