Dear parent/guardian,

In accordance with the Virginia Standards of Quality clause (ii) of subsection A of § 22.1-254 and §

22.1-254.01, any student who fails to achieve a passing score math and/or reading Standards of

Learning (SOL) assessments must attend a remediation program. Pulaski County Public Schools will

offer summer school remediation to meet this state requirement.

Your child scored below proficient on the Reading and/or Math SOL assessment. To follow state

requirements, your child will need to participate in summer school. Please see the enclosed Parent

Report for scores.

Pulaski County Public Schools will offer Summer School remediation during the following weeks:

June 10-13

June 17-20

June 24-27

Summer school hours will be 8:30 am - 1:30 pm. Meals and transportation will be provided. Summer

School will be for students in grades 3-8.

Students that attend Riverlawn Elementary School and Dublin Elementary School will attend Dublin

Elementary School for Summer School.

Students that attend Snowville Elementary, Critzer Elementary and Pulaski Elementary, will attend

Pulaski Elementary for Summer School.

Students that attend Pulaski County Middle School will attend Pulaski County Middle School for

Summer School.

Please return the Student Information Form included in this packet as soon as possible.
