PCHS Track Team Celebrates
PCHS Track team celebrates state title

When the Pulaski County High School Cougar football team won the 6A State Championship in 1992, the celebrations were big enough that many people still talk about them. One of the biggest celebrations, aside from hoisting the big trophy that day in Richmond, was the presentation of State Championship rings to the players.

Now, in 2022, the Cougar Nation is being asked to help out with a similar celebration. The PCHS men’s track and field team recently earned their first team State Championship, and the athletes from that team have been sized for rings.

When the football team won their championship, most of the money for those rings came from local donations and the business community here in Pulaski County. PCHS AD Scott Vest has sent out word that a similar ring fund has now been established to help the school cover the costs of those rings.

"In honor of our 2022 Boys’ Outdoor Track State Championship team, Pulaski County High School has created a State Championship Ring Fund,” Vest said in a release. “The ring fund will allow individuals, groups and businesses to make donations toward the purchase of State Championship rings for our boys’ track team. Donations of any size are welcome and appreciated. Donations using debit/credit cards can be made through School Cash Online which can be found on the PCHS website. Donations can also be mailed directly to PCHS with checks made out to PCHS with ring funds in the memo. We will also accept donations that are brought to the front office of the high school. Donations will be accepted through August 31. We sincerely appreciate those members of our community who support this fundraising effort to purchase State Championship rings for our boys’ track team. Thank you!!!”

For anyone interested in making a donation toward the State Championship rings, feel free to contact Scott Vest at Pulaski County High School, 540-643-0747.
