Transportation Announcement – Starting today, Monday Oct. 18 and for the rest of this week, bus #6 will be back to its regular afternoon route and times for Pulaski County High School and Pulaski County Middle School.

Pulaski County High School is pleased to announce our Senior of the Month for October, Brian “Allen” Queen. Allen is the son of Leslie Queen of Pulaski, VA and Brian Queen of Riner, VA. His nominating teacher said, “Allen has worked on the show Spongebob all summer while juggling work and two vacation weeks. He ended up taking full responsibility for the show when the other student, who was double cast in the role with him, quit. Allen always carries a positive attitude, builds others up when they are down, rehearses extra hours, and is consistently determined to do the best he can do. He is a very good student with a great work ethic and attendance record. He is a strong student who has been a vital member and a strong leader in the Theatre Department over the past few years.”
Upon graduation, Allen plans to attend college and pursue a career in criminal justice. He currently works at Walgreens but manages to find time to play video games with his friends and spend time with his girlfriend. We’re extremely proud to present our senior of the month, Mr. Allen Queen.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Brooke Arnold. Brooke resides in Dublin, VA with her parents Marvin and Stacy Arnold. She is the Senior Class President and member of the Student Advisory Council.

Pulaski County Public Schools and Pulaski County High School are proud to honor Kim Alger as Employee of the Month. As noted in the comments of several nominations for Mrs. Alger, she is the glue that holds everything together at PCHS. When faced with challenges, Mrs. Alger is always the person to rise to the occasion and solve the problem. She conquers the daily challenges of substitute assignments with creativity and determination. Kim is valuable in making others feel welcome and strives to show excellence in all aspects of her work. She is a wealth of information and a major asset to our school and school division. Her smiles are plentiful and her jokes are the highpoint of many peoples’ day. Her ability to stay positive has been beneficial for everyone this school year and her willingness to serve as the go-to for all things is what keeps us moving forward! We are extremely proud to name her as our employee of the month.

Pulaski County Public School and Pulaski County High School are pleased to honor Rodney Reid as Teacher of the Month for October. Mr. Reid took over the Seat Time Wavier position last year and has been a wonderful addition to the program. Through his efforts last year there were 45 students who completed high school through the Seat Time Wavier program. His support has helped those students be able to walk proudly across the stage on graduation night. Already this year he has nine students who are on pace to complete high school through participation in his program. Mr. Reid consistently serves as a source of encouragement for students and staff. We are thrilled that he decided to join us and Mrs. Reid at PCHS and hope that we’ll enjoy their presence for many years to come.
