The PCHS Theatre Arts Department will be presenting Gilbert and Sullivan's hilarious operetta Pirates of Penzance THIS WEEKEND ONLY! Performances are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. This musical has familiar songs that feature lots of word play, quick repartee, and witty dialogue. There are pirates, keystone cops, damsels in distress, and a Modern Major General. Frederick is a young man who was mistakenly apprenticed to a band of bumbling pirates (all of whom are orphans) until his 21st year. At the opening of the play, he is set to be freed of his indentures. Unfortunately, his nanny believes that he will now stay with her as her husband, when he meets a bevy of beautiful maidens on the island where he is now stranded. They are all daughters of a Modern Major General. Mistaken identities, pirates kidnapping the daughters, and a rousing tribute to Queen Victoria ensues. Tickets are $7 each or 5 for $25. Thursday night is teacher, faculty, staff badge night (Free admission for you and a guest with a school badge). Sunday is Senior Night with each senior being recognized and the 2022-23 Theatre Season announced. The show is approximately 2 hours with intermission (and will delight all ages).

Delegate Marie March, who represents Virginia’s 7th District in the House of Delegates, visited Pulaski County High School Thursday afternoon for a tour of the school and the CTE/STEM center located on campus. After helping congratulate two students who recently completed all graduation requirements early, Mrs. March was able to speak with three of the Most Valuable Cougar candidates about their plans for the future. She then moved on to tour the CTE/STEM program and was able to speak with several students and staff members about their involvement with the programs. For more photos from Delegate March's visit, see our Facebook page gallery.

There will be a strict application deadline of May 20, 2022. All applications must be completed online at the PCPS website. A link to the application is available on the PCPS home page under the "News" heading.
